Some have called it electro-funk-hop, others IDM fusion. Basically we're a band that employs standard instruments (keys, samplers, basses, drums and guitar) in non-standard ways. We keep floors moving and avid listeners moved at live shows. Our grooves are copiously influenced by electronic genres such as D&B, turntable and breakbeat hip-hop, and IDM all put together with an ear for arrangements. Infradig will move you in many ways and directions.
This music is not about showing off bad ass skillz or striking cool poses. It is about being human: human in all its seriousness, complexity and silliness. Themes arise from seeming chaos and patterns disintegrate and reform to tell a slightly different story until it sounds like a new song.
Clinical Indifference/the Psychology of Breathing, was released in 2007 and you can buy it by visiting www.MySpace.com/InfradigMusic or iTunes. It is an album about our psychology: from the obvious melodies to the warm noise seething underneath from which the melody arises. We run in patterns and grooves, but every time we run along those tight circles they seem different.
Ecstatic Everywhere is the latest release from Infradig. As the name suggests, Ecstatic Everywhere is the flip side of Clinical Indifference. Where Clinical was dark and brooding and dank, Ecstatic expresses an irrepressible joy and compresses it into 13 thickly layered tracks.
