Inade

Inade are a German band who specialise in warped, strange, and hypnotic sounds. Stemming from the ambient genre, their unique brand of mesmerizing music has captivated listeners worldwide. Since 1991, they have reveled in the creation of music that is limitless, bound to nothing, not even the fathomless reservoir of imagination that overflows from the minds of its creators. In the early 1990s, Dark Ambient sounds could already be heard emerging from Aue in the Erzgebirge (the "Ore Mountains" region of Saxony), specifically on two audio cassettes by the duo Inade: "Schwerttau" ("Sword Dew", 1992) and "Burning Flesh/Seelenhain" ("Grove of Souls" 1993) were still testing the limits of the sound equipment at their disposal, and searching amidst the stylistic territories of Post-Industrial and Ambient Musics.

Movement!

The first vinyl release came in the form of a 7" that was part of the legendary Drone-Series. "The Axxiarm Plains" (1994) is dedicated to the Russian Futurist Vladimir Vladimirowich Majakowski (1893-1930), who declared the need for an "Art in Movement": "Movement! We do not need a mausoleum for art, where dead works can be viewed, but rather living factories of the human spirit." This quote from his work Movement and Construction is included in the 7" insert. Consequently, this three-part miniature is totally dedicated to invoking energy through sound.

Violet Light Vortex

The first milestone work of Inade is the CD "Aldebaran", released in England in 1996 and named after that dying sun that radiates its violet light on many an evening. For some, Aldebaran is synonimous with the esoteric "Black Sun" the 'divine light of knowledge'. It is not necessary to delve into such notions in order to perceive this constellation as a symbol of a deeply spiritual source of energy, somewhat comparable to the "creative vortex" of the English Vorticists (Wyndham Lewis, Ezra Pound, etc.).

Kinetic Structures & Titanic Sculptures

With "The Crackling of the Anonymous" Knut Enderlein and Ren? Lehmann continued the cosmic concept of "Aldebaran". The title describes the symbol of a bright shining unexpected impact, followed by a calm vibration, as a kind of disharmonic phenomena whose repolarisation is effected through divine signs or even through anonymous factors? This idea directly refers to the sound space which is conjured up by the music: an aural journey, guiding the listener into a transcendent cosmic state of agitation full of kinetic structures, bizarre shapes and titanic sculptures. Even though it was conceived as a sequel to "Aldebaran", "Crackling?" has turned out to be decisively more complex and multi-layered.

Spiritual Seeking

As already indicated, the philosophical aspects of their worldview or Weltanschauung, play an important role in Inade's work. So far, two compilations dedicated to the occult underground in early 20th century Germany have appeared in the series "Germania Occulta" which is produced in collaboration with Turbund Sturmwerk and also features other musically and conceptually kindred musicians. "Saturn Gnosis" dealt with the concepts of Gregor A. Gregorius and "Peryt Shou" with the ideas of the "spiritual seeker and teacher" of the same name. And on their numerous contributions to other compilations, the musicians from Leipzig have dedicated themselves to further developing their concept. "The Quiet Room" an exerpt from a larger unreleased work that can be found on "?in the Crystal Cage" (2004), uses Jim Morrison's words to remind us of something which we had long forgotten: "We're trying for something that's already found us?"

Space Itself Breathes

The live sound of the sound artists can be heard on an evolutionary 4cd/4lp boxset guiding the listener to the deeper meaning of their live concept - "Colliding Dimensions live 1995-2002". At the intersection between dreams and ears wide open cognizance, between the known reality and the spiderweb cluster of dimensions dissecting it, reside the premier purveyors of dark ambience, Inade. But it's more than simple dark ambience that they traffic in, for their dreams are vast and unrestricted, and their imaginative, ears wide open approach to sound manipulation is audacious and unparalleled. It's as much weird ambient as it is dark ambient; strange, perplexing sounds in which origin must be questioned. Arcane musings from the cosmic wasteland collide with insectiod utterances culled from ancient alien terrain; deep audio ripples pulsing across dark matter plains collide with the ephemeral flotsam of German occult murmurings. Pterodactyl's squeal in atavistic joy, space itself breathes--inhalations like crackling Cthulhuian dread, exhalations etched on the machinery whine of Forever--and the ever shifting cartography of the infinite is sonically translated along the ridge of collision, where Inade dare to explore. What remains is incomparable: the audio mythology they have nurtured, and the legacy that is Colliding Dimensions.

Eternity Prevails

In early 2006 Inade decided to release a CD with collected recordings from 2001-2002 that has been remixed and re-edited in 2005. "Samadhi State" is illuminating the space of reality and the luminous arcs of dreams. Samadhi is a over-conscious experience that lies beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. The realisation made in Samadhi is numinous realisation. A perfect condition in vigil, a condition of absolute consciousness. It is the final goal of everything and the highest form of self-possession, in the sense of collecting all the faculties of the constitution towards reaching union or quasi-union, long or short in time as the case may be, with the divine-spiritual? Life in the spirit is not fading. If the restrictions of the empirical being are exceeded, the universal life is intensified. The life becomes cosmical and even hypercosmical. The Samadhi State is neither guards nor dreams it is the fourth dimension, where the infinite eternity prevails.

Somewhere at the intersection of the imaginary and the audible, between reality and the invisible web of measurements, piercing it is the residence of the masters of dark ambient - German project Inade. But unlike many of his colleagues on the genre, beyond the traditional methods are too narrow for him, and in his musical journey Rene Lehmann and Knut Enderlein boldly experiment with sounds, the origin of which remains a mystery. Yes, it's more mysterious, not dark ambient: a beam of light is not light the way, but lost in the mists of exciting the senses.

Stay in thought in the middle of the space of the desert gives way to a sudden string of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics carved in stone thousands of years. Layered sound sculptures out of nothing, the synthesis of matter and space in various forms, a deep dive into the world of the unknown, unconscious mysteries - like an attempt to look into the soul of eternity. Inade to music entirely inapplicable categories of reality and time, it is as far as the light of an invisible star, and the same cold as the representative image of the highest form of intelligence.

"History - is a myth, and all that it is for us, has always been and will be with us - an endless spiral of life, ahead of where we are." Nietzsche's idea of ??eternal return thread that runs through all the work Inade, continued for more than 15 years.

"Inade hold sway over portions of the new lands now mainly deserted by groups like Zero Kama, Psychic TV, and Metgumbnerbone: ritualistic experimental music oft-confused with ambience. Ambience - a situation of complementing - is not the aim of such Inade recordings as "Through the Gates of Death" and "The Crushing of Earthly Foundations". Formed in the early 1990s by Knut Enderlein and Ren? Lehmann in Aue in the Erzgebirge (the Ore Mountains of Saxony, Germany), they've issued more than a dozen recordings and appeared on double that many compilations. Each release, from the earliest cassettes in 1992 to their gorgeously-colored Drone Records releases like "The Axxiarm Plains" (1994) and the latest quadruple LP box-set retrospective "Colliding Dimensions" on their own Loki Foundation label (celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2006), indicates a codifying of their worldview - smoothing out rough edges as worked through the sounds on the records. Inade's sound - droning, rhythmic, miasmic - is shaped by their affinity for philosophies of total focus (Majakowski, Ernst J?nger); it's as if the philosopher were in front of them, summoned from the great beyond through their music and held fast so that Inade could finally engage in dialogue with them about the world as it is and could be. In this way, they wear their hearts on their sleeves and, of the groups that came out around the same time as they did and work in the same field (Predominance, Turbund Sturmwerk), Inade are the most outwardly searching, without settling on one clear path. While this searching may seem at times anything from angry flailing and despair (cf. their "The Crackling of the Anonymous" CD on Loki Foundation) to archly esoteric (i.e. the "Peryt Shou" 12" LP box-set collaboration with Turbund Sturmwerk), it's pursued with sobriety and propriety, as though one gifted a thighbone flute refused to play it until he knew everything he could about the person from which it were taken"
