Humanboy was born September 2005 in Minneapolis, unexpectedly. Guitarists Ben Berg and Geoff Fischbein, although recently-introduced cousins, shared no musical heritage: Ben was classically trained; Geoff was self-taught. Ben's previous band, Vertiform, played on the leading edge of electronic music, while Geoff had been active on the acoustic singer-songwriter circuit. Incompatible, you'd think. But after a few informal jam sessions, there it was - an unlikely harmony.

That summer, Brie Harthun joined them, lending not only her voice, but also an exceptional songwriting instinct - raw, reflective, and straight up from the heart. The harmony evolved.
Humanboy integrates elegant flurries of fingerpicked folk guitar, chopped breakbeats and warm synth, spurned, delicate but ever-loving vocals. At times traditional, radical, and both; always fresh and, yes - unexpected.
"I'm No Good at This" embodies the unprecendented musical discovery of these three individuals in a spellbinding journey chalk-full of passion and an exceptional illustration of innovative directions for an era saturated with copycat artists.
