Henning Ohlebusch is first and foremost a songwriter. Here's how Chris Collingwood of Fountains of Wayne describes him: "For about four or five years now, I've been playing Henning's songs for people and saying they were my own. Please don't tell him that. Brief, romantic and simple, in a why-didn't-I-think-of-that way, his stories and melodies touch people without resorting to attitude or pretense. If his name weren't so hard to pronounce, he'd be Yngwie Malmsteen by now."
Ohlenbusch writes and performs solo under his own name. He also fronts the band School for the Dead. He is also a writer and member of The Gay Potatoes and often plays in the Mark Mulcahy band. He is a key member of The Fawns as well. You can also see him sometimes filling in on bass for the Winterpills.
Ohlenbusch is also a producer and engineer. He has worked quite a bit recently with Mark Mulcahy on singles and out-takes, for instance.
