1.) Good Weather Girl are a Melodic Rock band based in Camden Town, London UK who formed in 2008. Their debut album Boon was released April 2010 on Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics . After being encouraged to sing for the first time by an old friend, Dion October (vocals) had a couple of demo tracks recorded using a single battered SM58 microphone and an old Alesis 4-track tape recorder, the tapes were transferred to mp3 format and Dion proceeded to upload the songs to myspace in order to share them with friends, These songs would later become Don't Worry and Charlie's house.

Dion October then joined forces with her brother Shem Lucas (guitars), who happened to be playing a song one day on his acoustic guitar that she overheard, struck with inspiration she asked if he wanted to try writing something with her, and in a very short time they had both written I Haven't Seen Paris.
Interestingly, Dion's main musical influences are folk and Pop based (bands such as Bright Eyes, Slow Club and The Faint) whereas Shem's are more Post Hardcore and Rock (Hopesfall, Boys Night Out and mewithoutYou) they both however share a strong love of classic bands such as Fleetwood Mac, The Cure and David Bowie.
As well as being Brother and Sister, Shem and Dion are also the children of Punk Style-Icon Soo Catwoman, one of the main catalysts of the London Punk '76 movement,
After uploading the original demos on MySpace, Good Weather Girl were contacted by Frankfurt based indie record-label Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics and offered a deal to record an album. Their debut Boon was recorded in Frankfurt, Germany with Florian Helleken of The Audience joining them to play Drums on the album. Florian had been a huge fan of the original demo tracks he had heard and drove his entire kit two hours from Nuremberg just to be a part of the project. He remains a close friend of the band to this day.
During the time spent recording the album, Good Weather Girl were placed on a last minute spot at the Phono-Pop festival, and received extremely well, despite it being one of their first live performances ever.
The front cover of Boon features a photograph taken by Dion, of her late pet-Rat Cedric.
The creative storm of a Brother-Sister relationship continues to provide a strong basis for the songs they write, and the pair embarked on a tour across Germany in March 2010.
During the tour the pair appeared on Balcony TV in Hamburg, being broadcast from the same tiny stage as bands like Biffy Clyro and Mumford & Sons before them. In September 2010 they appeared on 'Tracks' - the music and culture TV show on the Franco-German Arte channel.
The bands' sound has become slightly rockier than the material found on Boon. The most obvious difference being that Shem has started playing a Fender Telecaster electric guitar onstage in lieu of his Epiphone Explorer Acoustic, the songs that they have been playing at recent shows have featured a more up-tempo vibe and they have uploaded several videos of new material to their Youtube channel.
The band's official website is at - www.wearegoodweathergirl.com.
In 2011 the band made the track Black Coffee Days from Boon available for Free download from its Last.fm page.
