A founder member of the Canberra Youth Orchestra, Gis?le first found herself in front of a mic as backing Vocalist for Peter Garrett's ANU college band Devil's Breakfast. At University of Sydney she studied languages and was 1st Violin with the Music Department Orchestra.
A founder member of the Canberra Youth Orchestra, Gis?le first found herself in front of a mic as backing Vocalist for Peter Garrett's ANU college band Devil's Breakfast. At University of Sydney she studied languages and was 1st Violin with the Music Department Orchestra. Graduating with honours, Gis?le took up a teaching scholarship in Paris, then moved to London. Translator/interpreter by day, she moonlighted as Vocalist/Violinist/Writer/Arranger with post-punk band The Recruits, soul record producer Ches Haynes, Vega (Their single "Mother Egypt" was a European No.1), Eurogliders, Midnight Oil 10,9,8,7,6? and Thomas Dolby. Also working as a TV scriptwriter and actor Gis?le became a broadcaster with the BBC World Service. Returning to Australia she presented programs for ABC Radio National and Classic FM until the birth of her son. She currently produces and hosts monthly In-Flight music programs; Concert Hall for Qantas, and Encore for Royal Brunei Airlines and Air Vanuatu. Gis?le toured for Musica Viva in schools with the vocal quartet Blindman's Holiday, and was the violinist with the Argentinian/Uruguayan tango band Tango del Angel. She continues to work as a freelance Composer/Violinist/Vocalist, her most recent credits being for Piaf sensation Jeannie Lewis' latest release ?Southeart'.
Drawing on this diversity of experience, but being essentially a composer/performer of contemporary music with a groove, Gisele has recorded her own CD of dance music, with world influences, including some French, Italian & German vocals. It features soaring Electric violin and vocals with beats, over lush keyboard soundscapes.
