Gigantic Brain began as a one-man Drum-Machine Powered electronic, grindcore and post-metal project created by John Brown of Virginia in the early 2000s. It is very different from the majority of cybergrind bands. Gigantic Brain bring a very heavy sound sound to the table, often inspired by science fiction and futuristic concepts. In 2012, after a 2 year hiatus from the project, Gigantic Brain became a duo with the addition of producer and multi-instrumentalist Mastin Simmons. Releases (click for free download):

Gigantic Brain has Released a split 10" with Umbrella on Crucificados Pelo Sistema and has had numerous splits and one Full-Length (Our Bovine Destroyers) planned yet never completed. Not until 2004 did they gain major attention in the grind scene when the Massive 63 Track "The Invasion Discography" was released on Razorback Records, cataloguing all its material up until that point.
Two albums and one EP were released in 2009 (World, Betelgeuse EP, I swallow 16 red planets), consisting of a different sound with ambient and minimalist influences yet still powerful with its grindcore roots. In 2010 the album 'They Did This to Me' was released. At this time John Brown stated that this was to be his last release, and that he would be moving on to other things.
Ultimately John's statement resulted in a 2 year hiatus from the project until the announcement of a new Gigantic Brain album which is to be recorded by duo form of the band featuring John and musician/producer Mastin Simmons. The album is stated to be released sometime in 2012. Gigantic Brain announced that the album's sound is to feature a "heavily updated" version of their production values and style.
At one time all of the Gigantic Brain releases were available for free download on his website. In September of 2011 the albums were re released and are currently available from Grindcore Karaoke.
