G-Clef Da Mad Komposa (born Joey Cavaseno, in New York) is primarily a Jazz musician, but since the mid 90s he is more commonly known as a Wu-Tang affiliated hip hop producer and rapper. His affiliation came about when he met the GZA in the mid 90s while touring with his group Soul Kid Klik. Soon after he was introduced to the RZA. Clef formed Soul Kid Records in 1995 and things went from there.

After September of 2001 the live music scene in NY died down but he re-released his entire back catalogue through Soul Kid Records and still produces jazz records to this day. His hip hop accolades are more sought after however.
In 2005, he released "Tales from the Crypt" which featured guest appearances from a whole host of Wu-Tang Clan affiliates aswell as a remix of GZA's "Labels" and a remix of "The Night the Earth Cried", a track by the RZA's horrorcore group Gravediggaz. In 2009, he released his second album, "I Toured Wit Ya Grandfather", which was a more accomplished album and featured guest appearances from Wu-Tang rapper Cappadonna.
G-Clef has also released various instrumental mixtapes along with other CDs.
