Firetrucs were (was?) a three-piece rock band from Minneapolis. The band was formed in late 2000 and toured the Midwest and both coasts. Firetrucs shared the stage with Grant Hart (of Husker Du), Janis Figure, Houston, Ring Cicada, Cat Power, The Waking Hours, Light FM, Woolworthy, Zero to Nine, Snails, and other heroes. The band's first album, the "Space Loaf LP" was released on Chicago's Secret Fire Records in December 2001. It is a B-. The "Hovercraft LP" was released in May 2002 and features Veruca Salt's Louise Post on guest vocals on a few songs.
It is a B+. The album made progress onto radio stations all over. The band toured (and smelled) prodigiously until late 2003. The band ran out of money. In 2005 a MySpace page was created with a couple of previously unavailable songs and dance. You added us and possibly added a few words of your own. Possibly something like:
"l8er sk8er, thanx 4 the add! ur kewl!"
...and we shuddered.
