Chris, David, Jerry and Doug (who was later replaced by Zachary) played together as Fine Dining for about two years before parting ways in 2006. Fine Dining called both Athens, Ohio, and Columbus, Ohio, home and played bars throughout the state. The band established a following among some fans, primarily those employed at Ohio University's student-run newspaper, The Post. Fine Dining first recorded an EP in a friend's attic, then hit a real studio to record "Debutantes and Dilettantes." The release of the album was celebrated in November 2005 with shows in both Athens and Columbus.
