In 1993, Ramin and Behzad met each other for the first time and together they formed a cover band called "The Anonymous". The band was broken in 1997 but Ramin and behzad hold tight and continued playing together. At that time they formed the band "FANOOS" and began to write their own music. The lyrics couldn't be but by one of the greatest poets of Iran through the history, Sohrab Sepehri. By the time they were studying world music at The School of Music and Musicology at Gothenburg University (1999)...
By the time they were studying world music at The School of Music and Musicology at Gothenburg University (1999), they also became members of the world music band "Euriadne" which toured in both Sweden and Germany.
Ramin and Behzad have always carried a passionate love for Sohrab Sepehri's poems in their hearts. That was one of the reasons that they decided to start making music based on Sohrab's collection of poems"Sedaye paye ab" ("The Sound of Water's Footsteps") in summer 1997. They were ready with the composition in spring 1998. Since then they have worked with the arrangement of the songs which all have gone through major changes within four years.
Ramin and Behzad have put a lot of work into their compositions to create a sort of music that differs from current Iranian pop music. Their music is a mix of eastern and western music tradition. They believe that when making music with lyric, the composer must listen to the rhythm and melody of the text instead of making a melody for the text . Unfortunately there has been a tendency in Persian music to pay more attention to the lyric rather than the music itself. Instead Ramin and Behzad try to let the music retell the story of the lyric.
