Official Biography March 2011:
Introducing the scariest thing to come out of Nottingham since Torvill and Dean...
Rising from the ashes of what was undoubtedly the greatest "Blue Peter Metal" band of their time - Thor's Children, Evil Scarecrow have gone on to leave audiences awed by their Iron Maiden meets Black Metal meets stickyback plastic performances.
With influences from artists such as Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Europe and of course Immortal's make up application techniques, you can never be too sure what will be served up next, but that's just part of the experience.
Since the release of their debut album ?Crowcifiction? and then its follow up the ?Hell Dog? EP the band have received praise from music critics and fans alike. They have gigged extensively in the UK winning the hearts of Metal fans wherever they are heard.
???Morbid Witch? in particular is a bloody infectious number, which has had me cackling ?Morbid Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch? under my breath like some Special Brew soaked vagrant for days.?
Live4Metal
Nothing can really prepare you for the live Evil Scarecrow experience. They have played to captivated and robot dancing audiences at venues as famous as the Main Hall at Nottingham Rock City, and ably supported acts as well known as Soulfly, Cradle of Filth and the infamous GWAR!
?Praise be, then, for Evil Scarecrow?Novelty bands don't last long on stage, everyone's tired of the joke by the third song in. Evil Scarecrow break the mould by being damned competent musicians as well as piss funny.?
The Rock City Review
Over the past few years the band have gone from strength to strength starting with winning the Bloodstock Open Air unsigned band competition and opening the Main Stage of the Festival in 2008. The response the band received from both the media and the Metal fans at the festival was overwhelmingly positive.
?... those who camped surely felt the repercussions, as did the festival itself as tooled-up monster magnets Evil Scarecrow found themselves taking to the stage a little later than scheduled. That didn't stop the enthusiastic crowd giving their melody-laced extreme metal their full attention, and their performance was surprisingly engaging.?
Powerplay Magazine
?This quintet command the big stage surprisingly well, suppressing all the apprehensions I had ... Despite my usual hangover, I walked away from their set with an amused grin.?
Metal Team UK
?It's well thought-out and delivered metal ... and frighteningly hilarious crowd interaction ? creating a chaotic mix that sees Evil Scarecrow win many hearts and become perfect main stage openers.?
Planet Loud
?Evil Scarecrow is the only unsigned band appearing on the main stage and they certainly earn the crowd's respect by putting on a very decent show. Fans have clearly turned up and know all the moves and lyrics by heart.?
Subba Cultcha
Success continued as the band were listed in the Terrorizer Reader's Poll of best unsigned bands at the start of 2009. They cemented their success with the release of their first video for the ever popular track ?Robototron? to the delight of fans and critics alike, this went on to win Pure Rawk's ?Video of the Year?.
In April 2009 the band released their second full-length album ?Sixty-Six Minutes Past Six? and embarked on a UK tour to support it, gaining new fans and treating those that had caught them at Bloodstock to the full Evil Scarecrow experience! In February 2010 they released a video for the most critically acclaimed track on the album ?Blacken The Everything?. They gigged relentlessly throughout 2010 closing the year with a slot at Hard Rock Hell IV.
?Festivals are all about being blown away by bands you know almost nothing about and for me at HRH Evil Scarecrow managed just that. Another unforgettable set and a band I definitely have to see again.?
Cack Blabbath
?They perform their soul ripping metal tracks with such passion it's hard not to stand up and take notice. That and their set is also one of the most wildly aggressive and downright entertaining sets of the entire festival so far.?

The band start 2011 with a line up change as Papa Bongo decided to retire, the early part of this year has been spent working with new drummer Ringmaster Monty Blitzfist who made his live debut with the band at the end of March. Writing for the third album is due to begin in the latter half of 2011.
It is Evil Scarecrow's impressive song writing and ingenious lyrics that are the key to their success, blending together humour with their love for all things Heavy Metal? though of course a bit of co-ordinated dancing never hurt anyone! It is this passion and enthusiasm that never fails to connect with their audience.
