Aaron, originally from South Texas, knew at an early age that the chunky, distorted, chords of the electric guitar, intelligent lyrics, and a loud, soulful, diverse vocal range would lay his foundation for a career in music. Inspired by a family friend, Aaron started playing the guitar at age 10. Aaron went on to form his first rock band in high school and after graduation went to college to study music theory. In '93, Aaron moved to Austin, Texas and played in several bands, some of which included Hush, Ten Percenter and Abra Moore. Hush enjoyed local success and courting from a major label. Ten Percenter was a three-year explosion of aggressive, alternative, indie style, rock that opened for the likes of The Goo Goo Dolls, Candlebox and The Deftones. While playing for Abra Moore, Aaron toured the United States and Canada with The Lilith Fair in 1998. In the summer of 2000 Aaron started writing lyrics and music for his first solo attempt. He recorded demos in a small one-bedroom apartment. With six songs finished and with the help of long time friend Susan Thomas (Plasma Records), he recorded an EP entitled Pilot at the Slaughterhouse Studio (Mark Addison), but at this point, Aaron didn't have a band. He was looking for another guitarist/vocalist who would compliment his musical style and capability. Kelly Smith (formerly of This Side Down), who had coincidentally let Aaron borrow a guitar for the recording, would fit the bill. The two, heavily influenced by Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Soundgarden, and Chris Whitley instantly hit it off and thus with the help from Steve Bernal (bass, cello) and Seth Orell (drums), Active Radio was formed. Active Radio independently released their debut record entitled Frequency in 2004 and enjoyed a hit single for an entire year on Austin's KROX 101.5 in the form of Daffodil, a powerful rock song featured on Frequency. Aaron spent all of 2005 playing lead guitar for The Dan Dyer Band, on tour in support of his Roxy/Reprise debut album "Of What Lies Beneath" produced by Lenny Kravitz.
