Emmett Tinley first entered the Irish music scene as the lead singer of The Prayer Boat. Based in Blessington, Co. Wicklow, The Prayer Boat released two albums, Oceanic Feeling (1991) and Polichinelle (1998). Although The Prayer Boat have not played together for several years, they have not officially disbanded. Emmett spent three years writing his debut solo album, Attic Faith, in Ireland, the UK and Denmark. Attic Faith was released in 2005 to great critical acclaim, and was nominated for the 2006 Choice Music Prize.
In 2011, Emmett Tinley released his second eponomously titled solo album. The album was recorded in Los Angeles by Robert Shahnazarian Jr and in Odense, Denmark. The album was mastered by Bernie Becker. The first single of the album, Takes A Long Time To Heal was released in November 2011.
