In 2008 Shiro, Luuk and Peter tried to form a band. However, they didn't have a drummer and a place to practice. Via friends they got to know Reinder, a drummer, and Juul a bassist with a cool practice place, who they invited to the band. They started with two bassists, Juul and Peter, which worked out fine. However, vocalist Luuk had some problems with his vocal chords and had to resign. Juul took over after trying to sing some times and found out he had a nice, grunting voice. El Chupacabra was born with Reinder on the drums, Shiro on the guitar, Peter on the bass and Juul as vocalist.

Over the course of the year and deep into 2009 they started creating their own songs instead of just playing covers. After that, they gave birth to a new innovative death metal. With those songs they destroyed several stages in eastern-brabant, and they even won Stoepslag 2010, which gave them the stoepslag trophy, and studio time.

El Chupacabra's went to record their demo in mid june 2010. A few weeks later El Chupacabra recruited a rythm guitarist named Tim Kuijpers.

Tim Kuijpers left the band in march 2011.
