In 1980 "Doktor Spira i Ljudska Bica" (Dr. Spira and Human Beings) started in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. They recorded "Dijagnoza" (Diagnosis) in "Druga Maca" studio where Spira was an in-house producer and engineer . The album was released independently. It was a 50 numbered copies limited edition vinyl, with hand written white labels. In 1986 PGP (a major Yugoslavian label at the time) re-released "Dijagnoza".

Spira kept playing live with the band and writing new music. In 1987 with a with new band members Spira recorded "Dizajn za stvarni svet".
Spira moved to London, United Kingdom in 1998, where he still lives.
