Bio / Background
Cori Yarckin, the acclaimed 22-year old singer/songwriter featured most recently on UPN's music reality series Road to Stardom with Missy Elliot.has released her first CD. The full length LP, Ringing in My Head, features 10 original tracks written by the experienced female performer.
With Ringing in My Head, Yarckin has created a powerful debut that is distinguished by an uncommon lyrical strength and musical maturity. Producer Jimmy Robertson Landry has captured Yarckin's natural energy, and channeled the passion and emotion of a young female artist into a tightly honed pop/rock package.
"I set out to make a record that people can relate to and sing along with," Yarckin shares. "I have a defined pop sensibility, but I also love to get aggressive and rock - and that balance of styles is one of the most important things that sets my music apart.
↓ more ↓My songs are in tune with the way people really feel, and it's important for me to create music that a large section of music fans can connect with in a number of different ways. I think that's exactly what we achieved with Ringing in My Head."
Drawn from Yarckin's own life experiences, Ringing in My Head also offers a strong role model for women her age, with the album's blend of confessional lyrics and clear sense of self. "These are songs that say something about what I am feeling, and what other girls my age are experiencing," she explains. "My music is empowering at times and vulnerable at other times. It's real, like me. Real songs, real music, a real girl - that's what I have to offer." When you see her perform live it is like watching a young Joan Jett or maybe a female Steven Tyler.
Cori Yarckin will be supporting the release of Ringing in My Head with an East Coast tour tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2005. Yarckin's infectious stage presence offers an unparalleled live show that perfectly complements the exuberance of her music, and she is excited about the prospect of taking these songs out on the road. "I'm looking forward to bringing my music across to a wider audience throughout the rest of this year," she says. "I believe in these songs, and the messages within them. This music comes from somewhere inside me, and hopefully I will be able to inspire other people with this album."

This album is really good. It has a modern, plesing to the ear, rockish sound. It's really worth listening, specially if you like girls who rock.
