Bio / Background
Thousand Yard Stare is a rock band that hail from the east valley of metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. The band members of TYS take great pride in the music that they produce. The determination of the members of the band has allowed them to craft several highly energetic and emotional songs since their inception in early 2003. The members are Nick Romes (vocals/guitar), Tom Livingston (bass/vocals), Will Johnson (drums/vocals), and Chris Jensen (guitar). Thousand Yard Stare believe that high quality songwriting is the most important ingredient a band should have. They have learned this principal from influential bands such as Radiohead, Rush, The Beatles, Catherine Wheel, The Cure, Weezer, and Jimmy Eat World, to name a few.
There are many years of experience tucked under the collective belt of the band. Some of the bands that the members of TYS have played in are Echotrain, The Beautiful Nothing, and Untimely Death.
↓ more ↓Over the years, they have collectively played virtually every club in the Phoenix area such as the Cajun House, The Bash on Ash, The Sets, Sugardaddy's, and even the main stage at That Damn Show at the Peoria Sports Complex. This experience is what allows them to consistently perform at a high level of intensity and focus.
The goal of the band is simple: write great music and share it with others. Thousand Yard Stare is not a band that simply wants to be on TRL and have fifteen minutes of fame. To each member in the group longevity is the most important aspect of being in the group, and they plan on being around a long time.
