The most famous of Mozart genious concertos, pure beauty of music.
Bio / Background
At the age of 17,soon after arriving to Paris ,Mozart began writing a series of concerti for various instruments. The flute and harp concerto was enticed by his friend the talenyed Duke of Guines who at the royal court was an influential friend of Marie Antoinette , had studied music with Rameau and played the flute "in an incomparable manner"(Mozart letter to his father) and his daughter , the young Duchesse- who excelled with the harp. For these two friends Mozart composed the concerto for flute and harp, kv299 in c major, which became one of his best achieved concerts.
The concerto for bassoon and orchestra in B major, kv 191 is the first for a wind instrument and was written in 1774.We don't know for whom this work was written nor who was its original performer.
It was in 1779, soon after his return to Salzburg from Paris, Mozart composed his masterwork "Symphonie Concertante" for violin and alto. The composer himself was both a violonist and alto player.
