A new live recording by Daryl Stuermer's original Jazz-Fusion band Sweetbottom.
Bio / Background
SWEETBOTTOM
THE REUNION
The Sweetbottom reunion was recorded live on December 26 & 27, 2002 at Shank Hall, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This live concert features Sweetbottom's original 70's lineup: Guitarist Daryl Stuermer; his brother Duane on bass; sax-master, Warren Wiegratz and dynamic jazz drummer, Mike Murphy. Keyboardist Kostia sits in on piano and synth to round out the quartet's original sound.
From 1973 - 1975 this original foursome played five nights a week at the legendary eastside nightclub, Sardino's Bullring. Sweetbottom continued on throughout the 70's and led a midwestern fusion movement and garnered a reputation both locally and nationally as distinctive players and innovative songwriters.
This recording brings back the music with the same passion and originality that has made Sweetbottom one of the most unique and enduring treasures of the Milwaukee music scene.
The songs and arrangements are just as you remembered...only better.
