Bio / Background
This is Dave Stoler's debut cd as a leader. The other featured musicians on this recording are drummer Billy Hart, bassist Ron McClure and tenor saxophonists Rich Perry and Rick Margitza (featured with Dave in a duo setting of the standard "I Hear A Rhapsody").
Having played professionally for over 25 years, Dave Stoler is one of the busier professional musicians in the midwest. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, he currently splits his time between many musical projects, including The Tony Castaneda Latin Jazz Sextet, and his own trio.
He received a Master of Music degree from the University of Miami-Coral Gables in Jazz Performance, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk Piano Competition and the American Jazz Piano Competition.
