Still Pending's music is a young, fresh approach to indie rock. It's the kind of music that gets stuck in your head and gets better every time you hear it. Think early Police blended with classic Green Day with a dash of Ramones for good measure.
Bio / Background
Still Pending (Reed, age 11, lead guitar, vocals violin; Grant, age 11, drums, vocals, guitar; Ian, age 12, bass, vocals) burst onto the Portland music scene in the spring of 2006 when they appeared as the on-stage band for a 42-performance run with Oregon Children's Theatre at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts. Since then, they have gained notoriety as one of the hottest up-and-coming young bands in Portland. The local press call them a "spirited all-kid rock 'n' roll trio" (The Oregonian A&E - Friday, April 28, 2006), and "show stoppers" (Lake Oswego Review - Thursday, June 22, 2006). A lead article in the Portland Tribune had this to say, "They do indeed love the show, and they love the band," about Still Pending's performance in the OCT production. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about these young artists is their amazing songwriting talent. With the release of their first EP, "Innocent Days," the band showcases its diverse and eclectic songwriting and musical style.
↓ more ↓All three musicians take part in crafting the music, experimenting with different styles of rock. The hard-driving backbeats of Stop Spinning give way to more whimsical numbers such as Tuxedo Man. The songs feature complex harmonies by Reed and Grant with precision bass-lines by Ian. Some listeners have compared their music with early Police recordings. Still Pending’s music also has the underpinnings of some of the band’s idols such as Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Stay tuned for more fresh music from these incredibly talented young musicians.
