Earthy Acoustical Folk-Rock from the heart of an Acoustic Warrior.
Bio / Background
After being born and raised in southern California, I yearned to see what life was all about outside of my little bubble. I traveled all over the world with a tent, a mask & snorkel, and a guitar on my back after graduating from UCSan Diego to learn all the things they do not teach you of in college....and to teach myself to play acoustic guitar and harmonica. I hiked, sailed, and climbed to some of the most beautiful places on the planet both above and below water to write some music and search for the eternal answers. I hitch-hiked through South Africa and Zimbabwe, I sailed through Mexico and Indonesia, I climbed mountains in Thialand and Nepal.....and I was playing my tunes around bonfires, riverbanks, and beaches....writing and sharing my sonic creations with people from all over the world. Then I started playing music in bars in places like Costa Rica and New Zealand for beer and dinner.
↓ more ↓When I eventually came back home to "the OC," I found that my music was the "gold" that I had been seeking in these 23 countries I had visited.....that I was passionate about the music I was creating...........but that I needed to put down the backpack and explore other things for a while.....like recording some music....and waking up in the same bed several nights in a row! So I moved onto a sailboat for 4 years and wrote and performed my tunes as I sailed all over the western Pacific from Los Angeles to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Lately, I have been sticking a little closer to home and playing music in bars and nightclubs from southern California to northern Colorado. My love of being on the waves and in the mountains helps motivate me to travel a couple thousand miles every few months to perform my music for new audiences and to basque in my passion for the great outdoors. I've recorded three CD's, I've opened up for some of my musical heroes, and I've made many friends seeking out an American audience for my earthy acoustic folk-rock music.....and I'm just getting started. In the past couple years, I've shared the stage with Eddie Money, Tim Reynolds (of Dave Matthews Band), Drew Emmitt (of Leftover Salmon) and the Mother Hips......and I've also been headlining at the well-known Coach House Theater in San Juan Capistrano. I call myself an Acoustic Warrior....because that's what I am. Come see me play....and it might make more sense. Inventive harmonica playing and a big guitar sound coupled with passionate vocals and inspired lyrics has enabled me to perform on festival and nightclub stages as a solo performer......first-time concert go-ers often say "you came across as if you would never need a band.....you don't!" My traveling has taught me many things...but putting my finger on exactly what it is that I learned is difficult.....so if you can, listen to my recorded music and YOU tell ME what I'm talking about.....I like to think I'm keepin' it really real...and doing what my heart tells me to....! What you hear is real independent home-grown music from the heart of an Acoustic Warrior. Enjoy!
