Royal Wade Kimes
Born and raised in Arkansas during the time of outlaws and roughnecks, Royal Wade Kimes grew up hearing stories about his mother's family running with Pretty Boy Floyd and his father's family cavorting with Ma Barker and Bonnie and Clyde. Kimes learned from a young age how to survive and thrive in the Wild West. At age 12, Kimes was thrown in a saddle to run cattle on
thousands of acres of land across the untamed border country between Oklahoma and Arkansas. His Dad taught him to hunt and shoot, which instilled in Kimes a sense of freedom and an appreciation for the great outdoors.
This rough, colorful and open background is the inspiration for Kimes' music today. From his music to his mindset, it is evident that Kimes is the real deal --
he lives the cowboy way of life.
