Rich's songs have been described as "piano based modern folk" that lyrically evoke his birthplace, the Adirondacks.
Bio / Background
I grew up in the Champlain Valley of the Adirondacks listening to any kind of music that came my way: bluegrass, classical, rock, pop, jazz and every combination in between. My parents and music teachers encouraged perfomance at an early age and I was classically schooled in percussion, music theory and history. The small (former) mining town where I lived as a kid and the contrasting beauty of the surrounding mountains helped shape me in ways that I feel come through on this record - both lyrically and musically. I now live in the foothills of the Adirondacks and continue to relate my life to the natural world; as I write in Lila "lifting me up is the beauty around me...".
