An exciting and unique fusion of classical Persian poetry with contemporary jazz and blues.
Bio / Background
“I Return” (Baz Amadam), the long awaited second release from Iranian born recording artist Rana Farhan arrives. Inspired by the great Persian poets Rumi and Hafez, Farhan chose to record “I Return” in her native Farsi. Farhan sings each of these classic poems in a sultry, seductive voice set to a backdrop of modern blues and jazz. The result is a magnificent new sound that transcends cultural boundaries and demands your attention.
Already an Internet sensation with clips played worldwide, Farhan, who left Iran to pursue her dreams in 1989, is enjoying an explosive and enthusiastic response. Now with the international release of “I Return” (Baz Amadam) Farhan looks forward to sharing with the world the art of these master poets through this outstanding collection of original music.
