Renaissance influenced music with a Celtic flavour rooted in Middle Eastern and flamenco.
Bio / Background
Two musicians, separated by 7,665 miles, have managed a collaboration of mind and spirit to construct a reply to the insanity and mayhem that now grips the world. One is in Baghdad, Iraq. He calls himself Feter McBlues. The other, Ian Beardsley, resides in Claremont, California, not far from Los Angeles. These two found each other as others have sometimes done, among the random people who come and go on the internet. They began tentatively, attempting some easy exchanges of music and ideas, but gradually found the means to give their efforts a more profound shape and meaning.
The result is a duo calling themselves The Rain Troubadours and a growing body of music that draws upon various cultures and conventions, across time and space, reaching back to distant cultures of antique landscapes, and, in another moment, leaping forward to an imagined time and space that surely must be the dream of all people everywhere.
Here, exactly, is what it means to be human being.
Chassan M.
↓ more ↓Hammodat (aka Feter McBlues)
A music lover since his childhood in Baghdad, Iraq, Chassan began playing guitar at age 14. As his home city declined to hard times, Chassan managed to bloom to beauty where most succumbed to the insanity which is war. His inner strength secured his passions and emotions in musical compositions that reach from the depths of many classical traditions and renaissance styles. The Rain Troubadours now echo this foundation while bringing new life from the sad repitition of history that now can blend the hearts of all through a love of wonderful music.
Chassan's past work includes numerous original compositions, some which can be heard on "Outside These Walls" by the Brotherhood Band, a group he helped form in 1995. The Brotherhood has been temporarily disbanded due to war, however, now along with Ian Beardsley Chassan can now look forward to sharing and spreading his gifts to all who will listen.
Ian Beardsley
Ian Beardsley had his first guitar lesson at age five, but began pursuing the instrument as a teenager and more seriously in his twenties on. His music basically is a longing for answers to the mystery latent in nature, and for a better world for everyone. He has gone to Spain twice in search of these answers from the Gypsies and Spaniards there, his playing is rooted in their art. Feter has expanded his horizons into the next level of hope.
