Combining funky breakbeats with eclectic songwriting and stellar improvisation, PVD brings you the best of jazz, rock, and hip hop.
Bio / Background
Combining funky breakbeats, thick, yet subtle harmonies, alongside soulful melodies and stellar improvisation, PVD explores the best in old and new music. Drawing from a vast catalog of influences, the band gets down and dirty as a funk band while maintaining the subtlety of an acoustic jazz group. Reminiscent of a 70's fusion group, PVD's sonic pallette includes acoustic instruments alongside synthesizers while the five man rhythm section grooves like no other. Performing the music of drummer/composer Pat Van Dyke, the band frequents the New York area, bringing their live show to small and large venues throuhout the city. Guaranteed to show you a good time, PVD will make you get up out your seat and move. Hope to see you at the next show.
