Bio / Background
Polarity/1 is about groove, texture and evidence of human interference. Each song makes its own distinct musical and lyrical statement. Most songs are topical, graphic with multi-layered meanings.
Grooves are based on homemade loop, percussive noise, odd tonal events and live playing. Parts normally played with standard instrumentation are replaced by voices sliced and diced, and scraps of noise lost and found.
PRETTIER THAN YOU is a new collection of avant/derriere songs. Stories, delerium and political statements are sung and rapped over Brazil-flavored cut & paste funky electronica or other surprising genre-bending recipes like a woozy blues/cha cha-from-hell paeon to a 1950's aging Jewish hitman, a blues rock/Afrobeat/samba about living in the blue light of tv addiction. A dirty folky country children's song is propelled by a groove from northern Brazil.
