Bio / Background
The New York Room is goth's best kept secret. A band with many sensibilities, creating a wide array of music encompassing dreampop, ethereal, medieval, industrial, gothic and electronic, always with beautiful vocals and lyrics that could stand alone as poetry on their own merit. Don't let the title of this release fool you as being dated, it is merely a collection of songs pulled from this period of time, and 22 songs on one CD is pretty good bang for the buck. A great starting point and introduction to The New York Room.
"I had never heard of this band before this collection, but I am glad I did. 1991 - 1995 is 22 powerful pieces that combine medieval and modern sounds very well. There is a timeless, lost feeling to these compositions...I have listened to this disc at least a dozen times and I keep hearing new sounds from it.
