British influenced, atmospheric, echo drenched art rock, by Canadian band "no.9". Comprised of Mark Holmes (bass/vocals), David Barrett (guitar) and Sascha (drums), "no.9" released their self titled cd in 1999.
Bio / Background
In 1999, Mark Holmes, David Barrett and Sascha, released their self titled cd "no.9". The cd was written, arranged and produced by "no.9". It was recorded in Toronto at Spike Sound Studios, engineered by Spike and mixed by Spike and Lerxst. With two thirds (Mark and Sascha) of "no.9" being former "Platinum Blonde" members, the band name was short lived. In the summer of 1999, "no.9" changed their name to "Platinum Blonde '99", and toured Canada extensively to sell out crowds in support of both the new "no.9" cd, and the "Platinum Blonde" greatest hits package, "Seven Year Itch". The cd features 10 tracks plus a hidden 11th track, (an alternate vocal version of the lead off track, "Alright"). Alex Lifeson is featured on keyboards (not guitar!) on the 10 minute + epic, "My Time". Guest background vocals: Bobbi Guy, Kenny Maclean, Kathryn Rose.
