A lively traditional Celtic band whose music will take you on a whirlwind ride through the ancient lands of the British Isles and beyond. The Band's instrumentation includes: Harp, Bagpipes, Bouzouki, Tenor Banjo, Bodhran, Fiddle, and more.
Bio / Background
"Naomi's Fancy" is a music group based out of Traphill, NC, although the members range from Pinnacle, NC to Fancy Gap, Virginia. The group plays traditional Irish and Scottish music, with some rock influences. The group was formed in October of 1997 as a jam session, and played their first gig in November of that year. They have stayed quite busy since then.
The group consists of four members - Naomi Orr, Stanley Widener, Craig Sexton, and Nora Garver. Naomi plays the harp, flutes, and penny whistle. Nora plays fiddle. Craig plays the guitar, mandolin, bodhran, concerina, and fireside pipes. Stanley plays the bouzouki, guitar, tenor banjo, and penny whistle (although not all at the same time).
"Naomi's Fancy" has played widely through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. They have entertained at many various bars, coffeehouses, parties, weddings, colleges, contradances, and festivals.
