Warm, soulful vocals reminicent of the great soul singers of the past. This is Americana/Gospel blues at its best, and seems to grow stronger with each play.

{Michael P. Miller ~ "Homeward" CD review by "Hoodoo Jimmy" Simpson
"Michael P. Miller, singer/songwriter/performer fronts his California based band Blue Stew.
↓ more ↓While the band has had 3 CDs released, "Homeward" is Michael's first solo CD release. "Homeward" contains 11 songs penned by Michael, and one song "Lonesome Town", penned by Thomas Baker Knight and recorded by the late Ricky Nelson.
With a fine blend of acoustic, electric and slide guitar work, Michael makes a sincere emotional statement with each lyric as well as each note played. From the title cut, "I'll Be Walking Home Today" through the final cut "Homeward Bound", he tells a story of love, joy, sadness and sorrow that pulls right at the heart. This is solo Americana/Gospel blues at it's best, and seems to only grow stronger with each play. Accompanied with a keen wit, a present tense understanding of the roads of life, and with little regret Michael tells his stories of friends, of lovers and of life. His humor is best exemplified by his learning the lessons of life through "The Gospel According To Paul", and the bitterness of relationships through "Holes In The Wall."
Were you to take the rough edged sincerity of Tom Waits, mix the underlying lyrical irony of Lowell George with Ry Cooder's sublime mastery of guitar, you might find the roots of Michael P. Miller's music. Then again, Michael has done more than nourish these roots, he has become a forest in the trees...."
"Hoodoo Jimmy" Simpson - Rhythm City Magazine Dec. 2002
{Michael Paul Miller as a guitarist/singer/songwriter has performed with some of the best. Big Joe Turner, Joe Houston, R&B greats "The Drifters" are a few of his early gigs. He's toured extensively throughout the '70s.
In 1980-'81 attended the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA and became connected to the CA songwriter scene.
Michael has been fronting and writing for the band "Blue Stew" from which three critically acclaimed CDs were produced. One of Miller's songs (Nobody's There) has since been licensed by Warner Bros. Television for their series "Elimidate".
"My Baby's Cookin'" and "Child of the Street" (penned by Miller) both reached #1 on MP3.
Equally at home playing electric or acoustic music, his most recent effort is his solo release, "Homeward". This CD is a mix of acoustic and electric 'gospel blues' that aims straight for the heart.
{"The blues is music of celebration, pain, joy, praise, passion, heartbreak, love. The blues is part of everyone. The blues is life, experience it."- M.P.Miller

Tomorrow would be his 59th birthday and April 8th will be one year since his passing. This was his solo work and it was great! Along with the work he did for Blewstew, he is greatly missed.
