Waif-like, wispy, ethereal singers need not apply ! - Based in Milwaukee, Mia Montenegro is one of Wisconsin's foremost singer/songwriters, and has been a prominent figure in the Midwest music scene for fifteen years, performing in acoustic-rock trios, duos, as well as a solo act. Her trio, "Suburban Gypsies" was nominated for a WAMI award (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) for "Best Folk-Rock Group" and Mia was also nominated for "Best Female Vocalist.
