Based on the best selling novel of the same name by Mary Doria Russel (http://users.adelphia.net/~druss44121/), "The Sparrow" tells the story of the first human mission to another inhabited planet - one which we became aware of after receiving deep-space signals that turned out to be otherworldy music. Drawn to this alien civilization, a Jesuit-funded mission is launched and successfully lands on the other planet.
