With overtones of Pearl Jam and a toned down 'Seattle Scene' the EP kicks off as billed as pure Rock n' Roll.
Bio / Background
The debut record " People at the gate " is mysterious and dangerous, but uplifting and cathartic. Many of the songs, all of them written by Cornel, some in collaboration with "the mind invaders", are about the real life.
His presence is electrifying. Creatively, he approaches everything from a different place and is not trying to follow everyone else. He is creating his unique brand and continues to blow you away at the very first moment. "By working closely with " The Mind Invaders " he presents the material in different ways and these guys are my very best" he says.
"When I feel anger or disappointment is when the really good songs and lyrics come out of me", he says. Sometimes I can't write if I'm not in the right mood, and it can really take a while before I can start the writing session again.
"I want people to connect with my music, so I can go out and connect with them live", he says. I'm not about flashy videos, manufactured images or hype.
↓ more ↓I want to stay clear these things, and create and make music for a long time by being real.
Now living in a small apartment in Oslo, Cornel spends the day rehearsing with his band " The Mind Invaders " and working with new material to his next album, listening to new music and continuing to soak up new influences.
Born outside of Stavanger, Norway to a father who was a farmer and a house made wife, Cornel was always striving for a life of music, singing in the local church and gospel choir. His parents played old church songs and by listening to these he learned to play guitar and accordion at the age of six. His background gave him the opportunity to learn to collaborate across different genre.
"I feel my songs have a line going through which are me and my songs," says Cornel, and I really hope that the audience will feel it as well.
This record is rock, pop, drama and melancholy at the same. It presents to you a presence you could feel at the very first moment. The different songs are Cornels strengths and those who bought this record should listen to it over and over.
