Acoustic folk-influenced original songs to think, feel, and sing along to.
Bio / Background
Everybody leaving a Rebecca Loebe performance is either a friend or a fan. The energetic presentation of her original songs makes a personal connection, describing everyday events and emotions with touching poetry and powerful honesty. Quirky effervescence one minute and smoky angst the next, Rebecca's friendly, alluring and comfortable presence on stage can only be attributed to her years of performance experience. Rebecca first appeared on the Atlanta club and coffeehouse scene at the age of fifteen, and has been hooked ever since.
Determined and driven, Rebecca graduated high school early in order to study music and sound engineering. Living in Boston, she is currently performing to enthusiastic, receptive crowds at clubs, colleges and coffeehouses up and down the east coast.
In late November of 2004, Rebecca was very excited to release her debut album to a packed house at Atlanta's renowned Eddie's Attic.
↓ more ↓The independent release "Hey, It's a Lonely World," is the 21-year-old singer/songwriter's first full-length effort and was self-produced in the summer of 2004.
Born outside of Washington DC, Rebecca moved to Atlanta while a small child. Although she had been singing her entire life, it wasn't until she received her first guitar (a cheap black Washburn Flying-V knock-off with yellowing humbuckers and a whammie bar) that she began to write songs. Once she got her hands on her father's acoustic guitar, a 1967 Martin, there was nothing holding her back from the local folk scene. Her early attempts at songwriting were well received in the Atlanta folk community - she made her first appearance on the Eddie's Attic stage, at the renowned Monday Night Open Mic, at the age of 15. Bolstered by a favorable local response, she continued work on her songwriting and musicianship and left home days after her 17th birthday to study at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music.
After graduating with a degree in the college's highly selective Music Production and Engineering department, Rebecca launched her most challenging project yet: her first full-length CD. Her primary goal was clear from the beginning. She says, "It was most important to me that I create an album that represents who I am musically right now. If a stranger pays me the high compliment of purchasing an album based on my live show, I want the music that they hear in their CD player to be recognizable as the music that they heard performed live!"
The resulting album is a reflection of Rebecca's highly energetic, and highly emotional, live performances. To learn more about Rebecca's exciting career and tour schedule, visit www.rebeccaloebe.com.
