Original Contemporary Jewish Music in a folk-rock style. Lots of acoustic guitar and vocal harmony make the music easy to listen to and sing along with. Its kick back, good driving music, and fun.
Bio / Background
Scott Leader is becoming one of the most sought after performers of original Jewish rock and folk music. His music is featured at many synagogues across the US. Scott began playing Jewish music in high school as a song leader for NFTY while growing up in New Jersey. In college, at the University of Arizona, he continued by teaching music at Temple Emanu-El in Tucson with friend and music partner Billy Tiep. Scott and Billy wrote secular and Jewish songs together and played concerts across the US by themselves and with Robbi Sherwin. Scott played piano and guitar, and co-wrote 4 tracks on Robbi's first album, "Todah L'chem."
After graduating in 1998, Scott was a science teacher at the Austin Jewish Community Day School in Austin, TX. He then went on to be the Director of Camp Isaiah in Los Angeles, California, a cantorial soloist at Temple Sinai, Denver, CO, and now is traveling across the country performing concerts and leading serives.
↓ more ↓The release of "Lift My Eyes," is the first full length project of Scott's original work. He also released a secular four song demo with Billy Tiep called, "Scribble" in 1996.
Scott has appeared in concerts with Sam Glaser, Yom Hadash, Robbi Sherwin, Mah Tovu, Noah Budin, and others.
