Bio / Background

Kandles at Nine is not just a band, it is a way of life. Each member has exposed their inner demons for the entire world to see. Some call it artistic, some call it poetic, but they just call it life. Spawning from Portland, OR in 2002, Kandles at Nine planted a black rose right in the heart of the City of Roses! Their first live show was opening for the shock-rock band GWAR. What a way to kick off a career! They have since played shows with Kings-X, Fishbone and even a Fetish Ball with Dita Von Teese (A.K.A. Mrs. Marilyn Manson). With a heavy Industrial style sound, Kandles at Nine has been compared to other bands such as Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Slipknot. Their debut CD “Damaged” was produced and recorded by Geffen recording artist Jef “Woop” Warner (formally of Black N’ Blue) and mastered by Evren Goknar (Kiss, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc…) at Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA. “Damaged” has become a hit thanks to websites such as Myspace.

Hard rockin' Metal with an Industrial edgeVorsuc wrote on February 05, 2008

Damaged has a sound and quality that belies the album's status as a debut, hinting at the promise and talent that is yet to come from this awesome band. Tracks like Greedfeeders of the Maximillion and (I Want To Be Your) Slave would be sure hits on the dance floors of alt clubs the world over. Sure, as an album with an industrial sound, comparisons to the sound of NIN and Rob Zombie will never far away, but there are also hints of Ministry, Marilyn Manson and even SOiL in there all mixed up, whipped to perfection and designed to get you moving. This is one of those rare albums that when played, will attract the attention of those around you, asking 'wow, who are these guys?'.
