Bio / Background
Chris Bennett's first jazz/pop album features duets with R&B legend Leon Ware on "Somewhere", and with Randy Hall on "Turning Into Love", as well as a jazzy version of "Bus Stop" and "My Funny Valentine". Pac Attacks calls it "45 minutes of pure joy!".
On "CHRIS BENNETT", Beachwood Records introduces us to an outstanding female vocalist! While this may be Bennett's solo album debut, she is certainly no stranger to the performance world, having sung background vocals for Donna Summer, Johnny Mathis, Rita Coolidge, and James Lee Stanley. As a composer, Bennett has earned a Grammy nomination for the title song from the film "MIDNIGHT EXPRESS" as well as having material recorded by TINA TURNER, KEB MO, THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER, GIORGIO MORODER, NINA STOREY, and more. On this CD she combines her writing and singing skills and the result is 45 minutes of pure joy. "Shimmy Softly" is a sensual caress that envelopes the listener in its glimmering melody and lyrical union.
