Aspiring to a solo career as a singer-guitarist, he was signed by John Hammond Sr. and Tony Orlando to Columbia Records and April-Blackwood Music in 1969. In 1970, he moved over to MGM/Sunflower Records as their first artist and debuted his first solo single "Song Of A Thousand Voices." He has written "La Chansons Des Souvenirs" for the famous Mirielle Mathieu, has been a singer, guitarist and mellotronist and recording and performing member for Edison Lighthouse and was the first musician to portray the role of "George Harrison" as one of the Original Cast members of Beatlemania, the hit Broadway show of the late 1970's.

His 12-string guitar, vocals, bass and production with legendary underground psychedelic folk- rock group,The Godz, resulted in several albums for ESP Disk among which "Pass On This Side" (featuring Les' song "God Bless California"), continues to influence and mentor generations of new musicians to this day.
Also, in the early 70's, he produced an album by The Left Banke and recorded and performed on 12-string guitar with them frequently during 1972 and 1973 and recorded with them for their reunion album in 1978.
