On this album, pianist Michael Dulin brings his rare combination of straightforward melodic sweetness and serious harmonic sophistication to bear on a program of Christmas standards. All the usual suspects are here: "Deck the Halls" (which he begins on a pleasant but unexceptional note before suddenly taking the tune into jazz territory), "Silent Night" (a tune that stands up to tastefully extended melodic development better than one might expect), and "We Three Kings" (to which he adds synthesized bass and piano, making a nice break from the solo piano texture that characterizes the rest of the album) are all here, as are lovely versions of "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Away in a Manger." His treatment of "O Come Emmanuel" is technically impressive, but that's a tune that tends to benefit more from less elaboration, and the syncopation he applies to "Joy to the World" somehow manages to sap it of its natural power. But even the less compelling moments on this album are pleasant and fun to listen to, and it will make a welcome addition to any home's collection of holiday music. ~ Rick Anderson, All Music Guide

He has developed a highly personal and sensuous style that combines elements of smooth jazz, Celtic, Appalachian, New Age and classical.
Critic Kathy Parsons has called Michael Dulin "...one of the most versatile musicians I have ever known." Though classically trained at the famed Juilliard School in New York, Dulin maintains a hectic career as performer, producer/arranger, and creator of original music for radio and TV.
He has performed as a solo pianist throughout the United States. His international performances include Warsaw, Poland, and performances on Swedish national television.
The One I Waited For, Michael's debut piano solo CD, was New Age Reporter's #1 CD for three months in a row. Atmospheres, his follow-up CD also reached #1.

In this album, Michael managed to re-perform the world famous Christmas carols in his sweet and jazzy version, and yet still keep the essence of the traditional Christmas melodies we've all came to love. I really recommend this for those of you looking for a new way of enjoying your Christmas this year.

Pianist extraordinaire Michael Dulin's Christmas album is completely awesome. As are with all his other albums, this christmas album is clear sounding with the piano. The music is breath taking, drawing in the attention of all in the room and surrounding. For this album, most of the tracks are solo piano by Dulin. I am sure this album will become one of his favorite albums, if not one of many christmas album favorites. Each song clearly demonstrates the incredible play by pianist Dulin. Dulin is certainly one of the best in the world of pianist's to listen to, in my opinion. I can't tell you enough of how truly amazing it is to here the clear piano solo plays of each song. We have two labrador retrievers who love listening to this music. We know it not only relaxes them, but us too. This type of music will put you to sleep. If you clearly listen to each key being played, rather than just listening to the music, I guarantee it will put you into a very relaxed mood, if not to sleep. I highly recommend this album.
