Dremora is female-fronted symphonic metal that mashes an 'old school' metal sound with classical orchestration, then polishes it off with powerful, yet seductive, female operatic rock vocals.
Bio / Background
Dremora is a female-fronted symphonic metal band from America that mashes an 'old school' heavy metal sound with classical orchestration and gothic overtones, which is then polished with powerful, yet seductive, female operatic vocals.
This exceptional combination of American and European style makes it original. Dremora has been described by its fans as similar to Nightwish, Epica, After Forever, Therion, Tristania, Dream Theater, and Megadeth.
The band was formed in early 2006, in Los Angeles, California, by Thomas Kampert (drummer/songwriter). Vocals are performed by the Brazilian soprano Juliana Novo; she injects a unique, dark tone into the music with her vocals, which can be best described as a mixture of classical and rock.
Martyrs is their debut 4-song EP, released internationally on August 3rd, 2007, with a total running time of 22:48. The Martyrs EP is a limited production Digipak format CD, containing themed art and lyrics.

Each song has it's own individual vibe:
Track 1 "Alone" is an emotional ensemble with an unforgettable chorus and a solid gothic-rock feel about it. Track 2 "Martys and Madmen" has old school thrashy downtuned guitars and operatic vocals so powerful during the chorus that it gives goosebumps; it's themed after the fight against terrorism and delivers a powerful message.
Track 3 "Fair Haven" invokes a journey towards a wonderful sanctuary we would all like to find, with its extensive use of celtic panpipe flutes and heavy strings that build the aura of peace and tranquility--until the heavy thrash riffing and grunting vocal descends upon the unsuspecting voyager and shreds the fragile illusion.
The final track "Transcending God" is an emotive instrumental characterized by several ups and downs in the song that carries the listener away on a symphony of violins and thick horns, with intertwined sections of haunting and captivating vocal melodies as well as a heavy aura of clean and distorted guitars.
Dremora is dedicated to providing a fresh original sound to the modern genre of female-fronted symphonic / gothic metal, and exposing it to the world. We offer the powerful yet dreamy sound of European and Scandinavian style female-fronted symphonic metal to the masses of America and beyond to any country that has yet to embrace such music due to lack of public awareness. Dremora is here to show a few desperate souls in need of something new the wonders, beauty, and sheer power of true operatic symphonic metal.
