Soulful, heartfelt sometimes bluesy, sometimes funky, female vocals front a crackerjack band playing a winning mix of rock, blues and alternative pop.
Bio / Background
Jen Elliott was raised on traditional gospel in Jacksonville, Florida but she now calls New York City her home. In 2003, she signed with Manhattan indie record label City Canyons Records. A few short months later, they released her debut album, THE SECRET'S OUT. The album, backed by Jen's incredible band, Bluestruck, received Top 30 college, indie and international radio airplay and critical acclaim by the press in North America as well as the global media. Jen has been featured in issues of Entertainment Today, The Sun Herald, Inside Connection, and Keyboard Magazine. Jen and her songwriting partner, Bluestruck guitarist Anne Husick, were also recognized in 2004 by the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in their prestigious New Writers Showcase. To date, Jen Elliott and Bluestruck performed at the Black Potatoe Festival 2005, NY Auto Show 2005, GoGirls Elite Showcase 2004, A Day in the Park 2003, headlined at the Global Entertainment and & Media Summits 2003/2004.
↓ more ↓The band has also opened for the likes of Nils Lofgren, The Little River Band, and Nine Days. Her April 2006 tour and subsequent fall tour have or will take her to top venues throughout the mid-Atlantic states and the Northeast. Jen has also made in a name for herself in NYC by gigging regularly at venues such as The Red Lion, CBGBs Gallery, Arlene Grocery, The Village Underground, The Downtown, Crash Mansion, and The Sidewalk Cafe. Her soulful and hard-hitting new EP, THIS DAMN SONG, formally released by City Canyons on April 4, 2006 is an exciting prequel to a full length album, 8 DAYS DOWN, coming out in the fall of 2006.
