Doris Spears of 9 Fold Muse could easily be the musical daughter of a Blues royalty merger between Billie Holiday and Muddy Waters. Her singing and songwriting is honest, raw, searing and soulful. Watching and listening to her ascend the same heights and beyond is a rare and welcome treat.
