Bio / Background
On first listen, it's obvious that Dave Matheson is indebted to rock's watershed late 60's - early 70's period. What soon becomes apparent, though, is that he wisely favors creating something original that is informed by his influences rather than outright slavish imitation of any particular style or artist.
One may be able to discern traces of some dispirate retro sounds... everything from "Meddle" era Pink Floyd to Steely Dan; from the Moody Blues to the acoustic singer-songwriter movement in general (Dave's primary instrument here is the acoustic guitar), but the icing on the cake here is the melodies. Several of the tracks have melodies that tend to stay with you after the first listen, something that just isn't being done lately...

So, for the legions of music fans who have had it with the endless repetition of "Classic Rock" radio but can't get into suburban white teen angst, or simply those who lament that there's nothing worthwhile left to listen to...
