Since being unearthed by the late John Peel on his legendary radio 1 show, the wheels have been set in motion for D. Louis Baker to bring his music to the fore and realise his undoubted potential. A highly talented singer/songwriter, Baker blends unwavering piano and guitar melodies with his remarkable voice and backing from his band.
His latest material sparkles with warm emotion and an originality that sets it apart.

Baker’s talent as a singer/songwriter comes as a breath of extremely fresh (and lyrically pleasing) air in what is otherwise a very putrid and stinking Birmingham ‘scene’ (yes I’m talking about metal and noisy stuff). ‘Plank’ remains my favourite, being the most driven and un-Elliott Smith-like track out of these five.
