Acoustic/Pop/Christian
Bio / Background
"Content" - Desiring no more than what one has; satisfied; "Obscurity" - unimportant standing; not well known. Paul talks about being content with obscurity, as Christ was. "This is what this album is all about," says Darin Dunn by phone from his San Antonio home, "following Jesus' example we are taught to give God the glory. It is our job to seek his will, and then do it. Thankfully, he is patient." Dunn's fans have also had to be patient, this sophomore release comes nearly three years after the release of his debut album, "All Fear is Gone." "I really wanted to make a good album and unfortunately that meant taking it slow" said Dunn. He spent over a year in the studio writing, recording and mixing his new effort. "When I started I had a list of songs I wanted to record. However, it has been an interesting year for me and I actually ended up writing 80% of this album during the recording process, scrapping my original list.

Writing seven of the ten tracks, and playing over a dozen of the instruments himself, Dunn shows his versatility as a vocalist and an all around musician. "I think people are going to hear my influences on this album. Artists like Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, James Taylor, Ross King, Steven Curtis Chapman and Caedmon's Call have all inspired me as a song writer. Even modern songwriters such as Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Lee of Evanescence, and Keith Urban have had an effect on the way I have recorded this album, particularly the vocals." Dunn tackled all of the vocals on this album, even providing a choir for a few of the songs! Whether you like pop, country, contemporary Christian or Choral music, there is something for everyone on this album!
