Acoustic based Pop/Rock
Bio / Background
Follow-up to 2004's critically acclaimed and eclectically
produced "Pick Me Up", the self-titled "Christopher Dale" is an acoustic-based collection of passionate pop. Nominated for "Best Recording" at the 2005 San Diego Music Awards his latest effort showcases more of those hook filled songs but with a "less is more" style of production. Featuring acoustic guitar, upright bass, stripped-down drums and beautiful harmonies at the core, producer Jeff Berkley also sprinkles in a touch of telecaster and piano in all the right spots. Drawing comparisons to James Taylor, John Mayer and Matthew Sweet, Dale mixes his many influences together to form one uniquely catchy artist. Whether it's the fresh start sweetness of the lead-off track "Blue", the soulful introspective questioning of "Opportunity" or the self-loathing bellow of "Blown Away", you feel the voice and you've lived the songs.
↓ more ↓His beautifully intimate yet dynamic rendition of Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" is quoted as, "Ridiculously Good!" and is already receiving consistent regional and internet radio airplay.
With respect to such honors as singing the National Anthem for the Independence Day celebration at Dodger Stadium, performing at the American Music Awards after-party and garnering 6 San Diego Music Award nominations, it is Dale's lasting connection with the audience that best defines him as an artist. One female fan from Ohio went as far as riding a unicycle two miles, in rush hour traffic, to the station of the #1 morning radio show and hijacked an hour of live airtime plugging the music of her favorite singer/songwriter. Watch out for the Unicycle Radio Promotional Tour coming to a city near YOU!
