Free jazz, classical with a hint of Messiaen
Bio / Background
Virtuoso Harmonica and Piano duets that traverse harmony, dissonance, tango, modern jazz and contemporary classical idioms. Hohner Blues Harmonica Champion Chris Turner and concert pianist Peter Wetzler met in a folk rock/blues band in the 70's and found they shared a passion for free improvisation and minimalism which grew into their Ensemble: The Repeatos. This album explores both the extraordinary dialog between harmonica and piano that comes from years of passionate playing together with the immediacy of live performance. "Playing the moment" with no preplanned song in mind can be a self indulgent disaster or a glorious expression of delight. Turner and Wetzler deliver the latter with a marvelous exploration of the co-mingling of the timbres of piano and harmonica

why is it that 'free' jazz costs money to buy? And what is with that earsplitting harmonica?
